This magnificent stone house is near Harpers Ferry and Antietam and was built in two stages, 1760 and 1830. The inn is recorded in the Historic American Building Survey as of 1938. Spacious, romantic rooms show off many European treasures. The inn is in the heart of a historic district village, one of the first settlements in Shenandoah Valley and on the original European settlers’ trail. Colonial-era mill sites and homes, motor races and horse races (with slot machines), outdoor sports, theaters, and shops are nearby. Site of famous 1790s ghost incident (Wizard Clip) is half mile away. Small private parties may be booked. Check with innkeeper regarding room availability for children. One-hour drive from Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C.
