Thoreau’s Walden Bed & Breakfast
is a two story expanded Cape Cod built in 1948 and well maintained. The Great
Room is 24’ x 24’ with wooded views on two sides and a view of the pond
from the front. The B&B is directly across the road from Walden Pond. Many
lovely paths wind around the pond, and the area has marked conservation land
trails for hiking or cross-country skiing. Many historic land marks are in the
area, including the National Historic Park and Battle Road. The inn is located
one and a half miles from Concord Center and eighteen miles northwest of
Boston with great train service from the Lincoln and Concord depots. The
Thoreau Institute, through the inn’s woods, is just five minutes away. Small
private parties are welcomed. Household dog and cats. Personal checks
accepted.
