Ellen, a full-time schoolteacher, and her sister,
Marilyn, a professional dog groomer, have joined together at the Blue Bear Bed
& Breakfast to offer guests year-round hospitality. Their home is
decorated in an informal country mode, with several antiques and a charming
collection of friendly-faced teddy bears. Guests can relax and enjoy beautiful
views from the front porch, or they may tour the nearby battlefields.
Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, homemade bread, pastries, and coffee cake.
Snacks are offered in the evening. Area attractions include golf courses,
Greenbrier Park, Cunningham Falls Park, Catoctin Mountain Park, and antique
shops. The historic cities of Antietam, Gettysburg, and Harpers Ferry are also
nearby. Small private parties are welcomed. Household pets.
