The Gentilly area was developed in the 1920s and 1930s. It has always been a safe, convenient family area with direct transportation to the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans. Essem’s House is a ten-room home with terrazzo and hardwood floors, ceiling fans, and an ornate mirror and marble mantle in the living area, where guests are always welcome.
