Located in the original Fort
Lauderdale-Las Olas beach area, this landmark building is one of a few
remaining examples of a unique southern Florida architectural style. Built in 1939, the three-story structure embraces a lush courtyard tiered
with Caribbean influenced, plantation-style wooden verandas and louvered doors
opening from the spacious guest quarters. Fortunately, the loving care of
various owners over the decades has preserved the full effect and romantic charm of
this dwelling. The Superior Small Lodging Association awarded this inn its
Award For Excellence in 2001. Rooms have custom-made king and queen size sixteen-inch pillowtop
mattresses. Area activities
include the Intracoastal Waterway, the marina, the beach promenade, and many
restaurants and shops. Small private parties for weddings, family reunions,
and business retreats are welcomed. Travel agency
receives commission from inn.
