This large, detached property is in a quiet residential part of Inverness, a short walk from the center of town. Rhoda Beaton is “an extremely welcoming person and a perfect host,” greeting guests with a plate of fresh sandwiches. The five good-sized bedrooms are en suite, and each has individually controlled central heating. The comfortable lounge has a television (as do the bedrooms) and a gas fire. Generous breakfasts—“enough to feed a garrison,” according to one appreciative visitor—are served in the dining room, overlooking the garden. The Caledonian Canal flows close to the house, on its way into Loch Ness; boat trips can be taken to the loch.
