This inn is located on the shore of Lake Rosemound thirteen miles north of St. Francisville and three miles west of U.S. 61. It is in the heart of antebellum plantation country and provides a place for the perfect getaway whether you want to just relax for a few days or take advantage of all that this scenic area has to offer. It is probably the best-kept secret in the Felicianas and getting there can be a challenge.
When we visited it, we only got lost once, and using our cellular phone we got instructions from Jeane Peters that led us across the dam and right up to the front yard. Fishing, biking, hiking, and bird watching are among the relaxing activities available to guests.
The attractive inn was built as a private club and later operated as a restaurant for many years. But, it fell on hard times and was in disrepair when Jon Peters acquired it and renovated it as a bed and breakfast. The inn’s full country breakfasts include waffles, omelets, biscuits, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea and are served in the upstairs dining room. LBBA member, inspected 1996.
